“…by the grace of God” the relatives would be quick to remind us about fragile family beginnings building a nation.

So mother Clarissa--Grandmother Fox--dies in 1915, the Mexican Revolution had rolled into World War I for the U.S. military.
Henry had already passed away too. Back in January of 1898 (according to his gravestone as seen and photographed by Betty June Allen).
Their son William and his wife Ada had taken over the duties of Henry and Clarissa's farm. William (born 22 APRIL 1868) shouldn't be confused with is brother who was sometimes called William L. Fox. William L. Fox was W. Lindsey Fox and he'd been born on the eve of the Civil War in November of 1860.
William Lindsey, W. Lindsey, WL Fox, Linsey, Linzy all variations of the same name. He'd been born in Dunkert, raised in Battelle, married to Margarete, and was bringing up two children in the U.S. Census of 1900 (east side, Monongalia County). His daughter Lumandie was twelve that year and he and his wife Margaret had a newborn son. But the couple has been married for 12 years in this snapshot.
They are on the same 1900 Census page as Lindsey's brother Alexander. Alexander's married to Emma and they have a girl named Goldie P. At that point in time Goldie P. was an only child. And Alexander and Emma F. have only been married four years.

By the U.S. Census 1930 for Battelle, Lindsey and Margarete are empty nesters.

Lindsey makes it to the U.S. Census of 1940. But then dies of Cahexia (malnourishment) prompted by a Carcinoma of the stomach in the winter of 1941. This is recorded in the County Records. And can be accessed as we did on 10 JUNE 2013, through FamilySearch (MM9.1.1/N9MX-438 and MM9.1.1/NMQ7-BY4). FamilySearch is just one example of the systems providing information about place and genealogical records.
Reason Fox had gotten married way before Alexander did. He got married in 1887 to Rebecca Jane Conner. Rebecca had been born at Day's Run also in Monongalia County. Their children have German sounding names like: Genevieve and Zola and Mary Etta. Their boys included a Morgan and a Harry (that's a nickname for the proper given name of Henry). Little Harry came along in June of 1900, but Morgan came the same year that Elias and Ida Mae got married. When Genevieve got older she also went by the name of Mabel and she was a store clerk.
Samuel Fox was younger than Linsey and older than Reason. Samuel was about the same age as his sister Ida E. Samuel and Elias were kind of in the middle on the siblings chart. But so were Linsey and Reason. Quite a batch of little brothers for Harriet, Catharine, and Adaline.
